Bringing hope, inclusion, and opportunity to children with special needs in Honduras through therapy, health, and education, while also caring for seniors across Texas in the United States by supporting them with everyday tasks they can no longer manage—such as cleaning, cooking, and yard work—and offering companionship that restores joy, and dignity, helping them overcome loneliness.
A future where every child, regardless of ability or circumstance, is seen, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential—and where seniors are cared for, valued, and able to live with joy and dignity. We envision stronger communities built on love, service, and sustainable impact, with our reach extending without borders to children and seniors in need.

Rosa Lopez is the founder and president of the Canaan Foundation in Honduras. An initiative that emerged from her visionary work as the founder and current general director of Canaan Christian Academy, a prestigious bilingual private school in San Pedro Sula. With 17 years of experience as a teacher and nearly 20 years of leadership in education, Rosa is also recognized as a respected and exemplary figure in her community.
The foundation’s mission was born out of an inclusion program she developed at the Academy to support children with unique developmental profiles, particularly those diagnosed with autism. She has been a passionate advocate for inclusive education, promoting comprehensive teacher training to ensure that educators are not only dedicated to their profession but also equipped to meet the diverse needs of children with special needs.
Rosa actively supports families in their search for inclusive, nurturing learning environments where their children are accepted, respected, and free from discrimination.
Her dream is to create a fully equipped educational, therapeutic, and physical environment where autistic and neurotypical children can learn and thrive together—demonstrating that true inclusion is not only possible, but transformative when built on a foundation of empathy, kindness, and community.
